Units / Packaging Units
The connector supports three levels for managing packaging units. They are evaluated in the following order — the more specific setting always takes precedence:
Priority
1. Product (custom field) ← highest priority
2. System units table
3. System default unit ← lowest priority (fallback)
1. Default Unit (System Fallback)
In the system configuration (OCI or cXML) under Tab: General, a Default Unit can be set. This is used when no other unit matches.
2. Units Table
Under Settings → Units (Shopware) you can manage units. In the system under Tab: Units, these units are then assigned to the respective system.
This allows different units to be configured for different systems.
3. Unit on the Product
A product-specific packaging unit can be stored directly on the article (custom fields). This overrides all other settings.
Path: Edit product → Custom Fields → Packaging Unit
For articles with specific units, use the product-level custom field. For system-wide defaults, use the system units table.
